Transfer Student Admission

Apply to AIU today and complete your undergraduate degree!

We welcome students who are currently studying at or have completed courses from an accredited higher education institution to apply for admission to AIU as transfer applicants.

We are accepting transfer applicants to the following schools for Spring 2025 - School of Business, School of Architecture and Design, School of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, and School of Engineering & Computing

Required Documents

Sealed transcripts from all previously attended universities and colleges.
Completed AIU Admission Application.
Completed Transfer Credit Evaluation Form.
Copy of applicant's passport.
Photocopy of applicant’s civil ID.
Photocopy of applicant's residence permit.
Applicant's recent passport size photo.
Certificate of Good Conduct from school.
Transfer applicants must submit a copy of their secondary school records.
Course description from previously attended universities and colleges.
Optional: Official test score reports (IELTS, TOEFL, ACT or SAT)

Applicants wishing to apply to American International University as a transfer student must complete the AIU Admission Application along with the appropriate PUC scholarship forms. Simultaneously, transfer applicants submit the Transfer Credit Evaluation Form. All forms can be downloaded below.

To complete submission, applicants must pay the associated application and transfer fees.

Admission Application Fee: KWD 20.000
Transfer Credit Evaluation Fee: KWD 20.000
Additional testing fees of KWD 5.000 per test may apply.

Conditions for Transferring Credits

While we accept applications for transfer of credits from a prior accredited university or college, the credit transfer to an AIU program is not guaranteed. Prior credits that are disclosed on the submitted Transfer Credit Evaluation Form will be reviewed, evaluated, and approved by the Dean of the relevant school that the applicant is seeking admission to.

Testing Requirements for Transfer Applicants

English

Most transfer applicants will be required to take the AIU English Placement test to verify their readiness for academic success in AIU's English-language curriculum.

Mathematics

In some cases, transfer applicants may also be required to take the AIU Math Placement test.
