March 18, 2025, was a day to remember at AIU as students came together to celebrate the cherished tradition of Gergean. The campus was alive with energy, smiles, and cultural pride as AIU transformed into a hub of festivity, laughter, and joy.

What is Gergean?

Gergean is a beloved tradition celebrated in Kuwait and across the Gulf region during the middle of Ramadan. It is a joyous occasion where children dress in colorful traditional attire, sing special songs, and go door-to-door collecting sweets and treats. This beautiful custom fosters a sense of community, generosity, and cultural pride, bringing families and friends together in a festive atmosphere.

AIU’s Gergean Celebration

At AIU, we believe in embracing and honoring cultural traditions, and this year’s Gergean celebration was a testament to that commitment.
