This month, as part of AIU’s continuous efforts to grow and provide the best in American-based higher education in the region, representatives from the AIU leadership team visited the Ellucian conference held in New Orleans. Director of Operations, Mr. Duncan MacMillan and Associate Vice President for Enrollment, Mr. Ryan Garrity joined the EdUp Experience podcast hosted by Dr. Joe Sallustio.  

This podcast covers everything about higher education.  In episode #590 of the series, Mr. MacMillian and Mr. Garrity both talk about AIU’s authentic American experience, Kuwait’s outlook on higher education and the collaboration between Ellucian and AIU in providing a better university experience to its students.  

Since opening in 2019, American International University has grown at a fast pace and continued to provide students with the authentic American educational experience. From the vendors, the state-of-the-art campus, the curriculum and student life, AIU has reached numerous milestones.  “AIU is a private university playing a very important role in Kuwait by graduating students that are ready to join the workforce” stated Mr. MacMillian in the podcast. The Kuwaiti community in the country consider a formal education to be of extremely high value and aim to achieve a global positioning for Kuwait as part of their vision for 2035. AIU strives to provide the region with the opportunity of experiencing a premium American education that provides them with both; soft skills and technical skills required by the global markets today.  

The AIU leadership team also talked about how the collaboration with Ellucian enables them to navigate the language barrier of students who may not speak English as their first language and aid understanding complex higher educational terminology. This collaboration enables the scaling of enrollment operations with new technical tools that help students to visualize how their degree programs work. As Mr. Garrity said, “We are looking to provide a quality education with a quality output of our students”. With this in focus at all times, AIU continues to support student and youth-led programs in and out of Kuwait to help develop the next generation of leaders for the country and region.
