This week, students on American International University’s padel team played in their first-ever athletics competition. On February 12, 2023, the team played in straight sets and arose victorious in the matches against rival universities. AIU’s winning team includes Ali Razzaq, a junior studying biomedical engineering, Mohammed Awad Abdullah, a sophomore studying biomedical engineering, and Mohammed Alquattan, a freshman on the business management program. After hours of training and preparation, the students gave it their all against their worthy opponents and brought pride to AIU.

Following their win, the AIU team will play in the semi-finals against the team from Kuwait Technical College. The tournament is being conducted by the Kuwait School & High Education Sports Federation. The organization works to actively engage the youth of Kuwait through a variety of sporting activities and tournaments in collaboration with schools and universities. We are proud of our student athletes and strongly believe in the importance of athletics for the youth of Kuwait. The athletics program at AIU is robust and growing, offering students numerous opportunities to participate in a variety of sports, in-line with the university’s goal of holistic development.
