The Graphic Design program at AIU is designed to prepare students for diverse careers in design, encompassing both print and digital media. With a solid academic foundation, the program aligns with international graphic design education standards. The degree imparts essential skills geared towards individuals with a keen interest in creative careers like visual communication, multimedia and web design, digital technology, and design business management.

This comprehensive program covers the fundamental aspects of graphic design, emphasizing creativity, innovation, visual impact, synthesis, and aesthetics. It integrates technological, cultural, and business management elements, providing students with a well-rounded education. Embracing contemporary graphic design practices and broader design concepts, the program ensures students are equipped for the dynamic landscape of the design industry.

Furthermore, students gain valuable exposure to the professional world through an internship course and collaborating with various design companies. This experience equips them with the skills and insights needed for a successful career in the field.

Upon successful completion of the program, a graduate of typical standard will be able to:

  • transform information into creative, conceptually graphic design solutions.
  • identifying and managing the creative relation between concept, practice, and means of communication.
  • relating the cultural, historical, and socioeconomic context of graphic design and its relationship to the community.
  • extend knowledge of a range of materials and techniques, tools, and methods to express the developing concepts.
  • integrate technology and digital media in graphic design processes.
  • demonstrate appropriate specialist skills and application of presentation skills, including illustration, animation, and graphic skills relevant to their design portfolio.

Collaborate effectively with others and relate to other professionals in multidisciplinary teams through professionalism in teamwork and self-management.

Degree Requirements

The School of  Architecture and Design offers two majors: Graphic Design and Interior Design.

School of Architecture and Design Requirements 

Students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Graphic Design program must complete a minimum of 121 credits including satisfaction of all degree requirements of AIU. All coursework must be completed in accordance with the academic rules of AIU and those of the department.
